Get Started with a Side-Hustle Today!
Watching cat videos on YouTube isn’t exactly the most productive way of spending your days. I mean… I’ll admit it, I love a good cat video as much as the next guy, but it is not a good way to generate some of that much-needed extra income your needing. Fortunately, you have stumbled upon a helpful little list of great side-hustle that you can do to make some extra income.
1. Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing, one of the most diverse and flexible business models, has existed for decades. This side-hustle will allow you to earn money passively. The best part is that you don’t need a single cent to start. Sure, it might be a good idea to invest some money in a blog or website, but that isn’t necessary. If you have a large enough following on some form of social media, be that YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, etc., you’ll be able to earn money on the go.
Marketing low-ticket items is a beginner-friendly tactic, but if you’re in the game for serious money, high-ticket products are the way to go. On the other hand, recurring affiliate programs can be one of the most useful assets ever. If you advertise a product that people will pay monthly for, you’ll receive consistent commissions every month!
2. Make a YouTube Channel
YouTube is one of the most stable ways of making money online. You don’t need any money to start a YouTube channel, but that’s just one of the many benefits of this business model. The more viewers you have, the more watch time you’ll get, and the more money you’ll earn with ads. If you get a daily average of 80,000 views, you could earn as much as $240 every day. If $240 a day isn’t enough for you, know that YouTube is flexible. If your audience is large enough, you could source other income streams for your channel. Think about the endless possibilities of affiliate marketing—if you make laptop review videos, you could place affiliate links in your video description and earn money that way.
3. Become an Instagram Influencer
Instagram is one of the most widespread social media platforms out there, so becoming an influencer is a smart idea. If you don’t already know, an Instagram influencer posts stories or ads for companies for a given price. For instance, if you’ve gathered a significant audience, you could set your ad price to $50 for 24 hours. Let’s say you get 20 clients every week. The total weekly revenue you could generate with 20 clients would be around $1000–that’s quite decent for posting ads.
4. Become a Freelancer
Freelancing is another brilliant side-hustle. You most likely already have a habit of some kind, so why not do it for money? Websites like Fiverr, Guru, and Freelancer.com will allow you to sell your skills to an enormous audience. There are hundreds of ways to make money as a freelancer. You could write blogs, create social media posts, create and edit videos, do voiceovers, create apps, or develop websites, just to name a few. Check out Fiverr if you are interested in freelancing —you can do almost anything. If you trust your imagination and create an engaging gig, you’ll be able to achieve success as a freelancer in no time!
5. Handyman Services
Suppose you are one of those individuals that are good with your hands. Offering handyman services can be a great side-hustle to earn extra income. There are many different types of services you can offer as a handyman… painting, yard work, laying cement, pool work, electrical, plumbing, installing fans and lights, just to name a few. Many people cannot do many of these tasks themselves, and those people are willing to pay for help. Advertising your services is easy to do. You just need to post your services on a website like Craigslist or Angie’s List.
6. Buy high demand items cheap and resale for more money
It sounds pretty simple. It is really that simple. Did you know that there are websites like Nellis Auction, which is a service that auctions off government excess items or returns for pennies on the dollar? You can start a great side-hustle by buying items like furniture, computers, or equipment for little to no money on their auction site, then resale those items on services like Craigslist, OfferUp, eBay, or Letgo for 4x-10x more money. This can be a great way to make some extra money.
Hopefully, these great side-hustle ideas have generated some ideas on how you can make some extra money. If you need more ideas, check out additional ways to generate some extra money.
So many great ideas and they all sound like they would generate a steady income. With the COVID 19 still going around, this would benefit myself and my family so much! Will for sure get one of these started soon!
Here for the side-hustle content truly, definitely leaning more towards the freelancing but I’m really intrigued at what you stand to make through these other avenues
Love your idea on buying high demand items cheap and reselling them for a profit. I usually would hear suggestions like being a freelancer, which is quite a common idea. So yep, I would delve into buying cheap and selling them for a profit. I think I’m more into sales than service anyway. Thank you for these great suggestions! More power.
Affiliate marketing is great. I used to do affiliate marketing with a supplement company, they had a great product called the “lemonade weight loss pill” and it was basically the lemon juice, cayenne and honey cleanse in a capsule, it sold very well considering my follower account wasn’t super high on Instagram. Unfortunately, they took the product off of their site and I haven’t been able to get any of the other ones sold yet (I think because they are too generic). So it really pays if the product is unique and kinda hard to find I’ve learned.
Agreed. Niche markets are key.
I’ve been wanting to start a Youtube Channel with the topic of like “Top 10” so like “top 10 terrifying rollarcoasters” or something, I thing this would have a great chance to get a lot of views.
Never heard of Nellis Auction! I love selling on ebay, will have to check this out! With side hustles, I think if you work at a few, you can really build a nice income source! My friend has a saying that you need to imagine your income source like a pie, cut into 8 slices, and each slice represents an income stream. If someone did this, they could be very comfortable :)
